55 of Raps Most Memorable First Lines...
According to Smoking Section these are 55 of the most memorable 1st lines in hiphop but of course I think we can all think of about 50,000 more just in raps golden era alone. What no F-a-b-o-l-o-u-s? Big Pun? Pimp C? Quite honestly I think if I went in I could replace this list with 50 of my own that could probably give the world a better explanation of why we all fell in love with hiphop but you can be the judge for yourself check it out....but that Po Pimp reference in #7 is on point though!
1. 2Pac "Hit 'Em Up" -- "First off, f*ck ya b*tch and the clique you claim..." - You half expect him to follow up with "therefore."
2. Rakim "Paid In Full" -- "Thinkin' of a master plan, 'Cause ain't nothin' but sweat inside my hand..."
3. OC "Time's Up" -- "You lack the minerals and vitamins, Irons and the Niacins, F*ck who that I offend, rappers, sit back I'm about to begin." - Omar prescribes your recommended daily allowance of boom bap.
4. Snoop Doggy Dogg on "Nothin' But A 'G' Thang" -- One, two, three and-to-the fo'/ Snoop Doggy Dogg and Dr. Dre is at the do'..." - Simple lyrics that introduced arguably one of rap's most dynamic duos.
5. Lady Of Rage on "G Funk Intro" -- "I'm sippin' on Tanqueray, with my mind on my money and my mouth full of ganj-a/ R-A-G-to the muthaf*ckin'-E, back with my aggin S-N-Double-O-P..." - After this verse and the popularity of Snoop's debut, no one needed to ask this Lady her name ever again.

Positive Reinforcement:"What The Fuck Obama Has Done So Far" Website...
With all of the political finger pointing going on out there i guess it's good to have something good out there like this to showcase all of the Presidents accomplishments because to hear all the pundits tell it, the last couple years have been a waste of time. So I guess this is just an example of freedom of expression being used in the right way for once, at it's finest.....

The website “What the F***k Has Obama Done So far?”—which is actually a tribute to the prez — has garnered a whopping 4 million hits in less than a week, its founders tell the Huffington Post.

WTF: Halloween Candy May Cause Obesity...Really? Cmonson....
WTF? So tell me why I heard today that some communities and principalities are considering foregoing Trick or Treating this year because of argumentable evidence currently being made available indicating that the holiday may produce causes that lead to obesity? So now after the past 50 or 60 yrs in 2010 we decide that Trick or Treating, which is one day of the yr (or actually a month or so if you consider the amount of time it'll actually talk for all of the candy to be adsorbed) is found to be a cause of one of the cause of obesity? LMAO. Man these healthcare providers and officials from the Food and Drug Administration need to stop that ish and let these kids go hard. After all thats what kids do right? Man these kids probably don't even know what real candy is nowadays like the candy I ate growing up. So not a single piece of candy that was purchased/produced in the 80's caused obesity but now in 2010 it does? Sounds to me like a cop-out! Now I could agree w/ the argument of a shift in lifestyle changes...from the lack of activity/physical education nowadays maybe because of video games, changes in the educational system, or the growing popularity of utilizing computers but Halloween? #Cmonson that's a kids holiday! Halloween is and always has been a sugar rush for everybody...so leave these little kids alone man!
Courtesy of Avant News:
Boulder, October 28, 2008 -- A seven-year dietary and fitness study released today reaches the disturbing conclusion that Halloween candy, long a staple of American holiday witches, goblins, vampires and presidents of all ages, may be a contributing factor in obesity.

BP Poll: I Guess No One is Attending Church the Way they Used to....
I guess I'ma kinda surprised by these numbers but then again I'ma really not but I wonder what my moms would think...to most people although as much as they try to stress it, Jesus or religion to them is a relative term which means it's only valuable when its convenient otherwise the rejoicing of such is a secondary factor...
According to News One:
We at NewsOne are collaborating with Black Planet to conduct poll questions three days a week. Our poll question for this past weekend focuses on the main institution in our community – our churches.
“How often do you attend church?”
Below are the poll results...
- Daily 3%
- Weekly 33%
- Monthly 13%
- Rarely or never 51%
- Total Responses: 2,299

Debt in Black America: Pimp Rule #34
Now when I first seen this CNN special report initially I was somewhat indifferent on it in regards to my perceptions and/or attitudes but then as I began to think about it as a person who has personally transitioned from a have not to somewhat of someone who is considerably well off then that's when I became moved to really sit down and try and address it. "It" being what the segment referred to as Debt in America, specifically within the black community. Also I thought it was also very interesting how they attempted to tie religion and faith into the dialog as it relates to the health and welfare of our economic status as if the 2 are linked? maybe? maybe not? but nonetheless, wasn't religion the same thing that was and always has been used to control us as slaves by our slave masters?
But at any rate, I think there were about 3 different stories that were being attempted to be told...all in different situations from 3 different points of view: a young college bound kid, an older out of work gentlemen suffering from the cutbacks of the recession, and the other a married couple who was otherwise able to afford a pretty good lifestyle prior to the economic decline.
So I guess in order if I start with to me whats the easiest decomposable to not first up is: Dude #2 - the older gentlemen who got downsized due to the recession. First of all I wanna say that my hat goes off to this guy because of the tenacity of his struggle and grind and the shear amount of optimism that he was able to keep despite his diversity, that's god like right there. So to be honest, what can you really say being in this situation....

PSA: You Sagging? Cmon son....
Not for nothing but I'm not sure who gave this a pass or co-signed that sagging was cool but this is homo right here! I know back in the early 90's when everyone said that Hip Hop was going to take over the world, I didn't really think they meant literally though because now it seems like these clowns will jump on and imitate anything that somebody else will say is hot! Understandably, back in the days we all know it was trendy but honestly I thought that was back in the Salt n Pepa, TLC, and Kris Kross days and that was when we were like 15 but now we are all in our mid 20's/early 30's and I'm still seeing grown men in 2010 wearing fitted jeans and letting their jeans hang off of their ass to the point where you can damn near begin to see their butt crack on purpose...u serious? Cmon son that's fulgazi and some faggot ish! If that's a word....
Now honestly look at this picture (on the right) and compare it with the one up above and tell me how in the hell it's different? Because it's not... That's my word, go to any strip club Magic City in ATL or Club Rollexx in Miami an that's exactly how you'll see the strippers wearing their thongs but they do it to accentuate their physical features...its the allure of the game. So help me understand the concept of skinny jeans again? LMAO
The funny this is, I keep seeing all these editorials on how there are some many and a disproportionate number of successful black women who are unable to find any good black men when the real problem is that it's because all of these #&*@#$ are carrying themselves like skeeo's (pronounced ski - o) and dressings like queers.... so any reasonable and respectable women just cant get that hardcore to except that as a perception of the future, her future. All to many times I think we fail our women more than they've ever turned their back on us just in general, case in point - look at how we carry ourselves. And as a matter of fact, I don't think I've ever met one girl who's ever turned their back on me yet and I've done been knee deep in the game since I was about 15.Either way whatever it is I'm just convinced that there's a whole new breed of new &%$#@! out here that apparently are trying to carve out their own whole new lane so whoever they are and whatever they are trying to do I'm sure they'll do just fine as long as they stay the ^#$& away from me with that BS.

Word: Nearly 2 Tons OF Marijuana Seized By Border Patrol
I'm confused. If we can sit here run numerous amounts of convert operations in the interest of "public interest" and "homeland security" then instead of taking all these packs and destroying em or using it flush out additional kingpin offenders, it's a recession, so why not take the work and attempt to redistribute it overseas and use the money to pay down each states budget deficit. The whole world has been d!ck riding on the US for a minute yet here it is a recession but the government is considering it as a victory for the seizure of 2.9 million worth of narcotics...but ultimately thats really 2.9 million less liquidity flowing through the system.
I'ma hustler homey! You take this same package pitch it abroad, minus expenditures and a converted currency and that leaves you w/ at least 2 mil flat. So then thats less product on our streets plus an additional 2 million that can be funneled back into the states for education, resources, training etc...then maybe n!ggas can start to get some jobs again. Everybody looking to Pres. Obama for the answer but maybe it's gonna take this country to go back to how it was originally establish to succeed again...the ski mask way!

The supply of marijuana might be drier after U.S. Border Patrol Agents discovered more than 3,600 pounds of the drug Friday in a tractor-trailer near Hebbronville.

How to Come up in a Recession #134: Sign up for Student Loans!
Its amazing! I just got of the phone with my girl, who's a psychology major at a local community college, and she just starting talking to me about noticing how much more packed college classes are now opposed to 1 yr ago...which then led me to think about this older woman I work with who's 52, a single parent of one, and who's currently finishing up her bachelors program with UOP (University of Phoenix) and over hearing her one day talking about how from her bachelors program she's going to jump straight into a masters program and then dive right back in for her doctorate, to say the least, just to avoid paying back her student loans.
Now at the time, my thought was "listen to this goofy ass ole lady and her washed up antics", and of coarse the fact that her daughter is almost 18 and the reality is beginning to set in that she wont be able to live off of her daughters child support anymore; none the less, I just began to witness how the cultural landscape of higher education right before my eyes was beginning to shift from excellence and professionalism in order to thrive in corporate america to a come up and supplemental income scheme. Essentially, people just staying in school just to use student loans to finance a way of living or people continuing education just to avoid the everyday realities of life - that's like staying employed w/ the cable company just to get free a cable (LOL).

Home of the Brave or Death Dumb and Blind?
Not for nothing but I think its kinda funny how when something like the Connecticut shooting spree killing 8 people occur, people get up in arms acting as if when these types of events occur that they are the selfish act of one person rather than a reflection of the inequalities of a subconscious in an american subculture - RACISM. And then what makes matters worst, is when these fake black intellectuals get on TV/radio and try to speak of behalf of "black intelligence" to try and rationalize to a white subculture what happened based on what they've concluded to be the "psychological disparities" or "mental illnesses" on of man.
Look at us, we are the worst at that. Why is it that our most skilled and well versed black men can go on TV or radio (even eager at that) and try to rationalize to a predominantly white audience the inordinate circumstances that cause a black man to go on a killing spree but the same men can't even explain to his wife or his community why our daughters sell their ass in the streets or have low self esteem or why his son has an addiction problem. Personally I don't think it justifies what happened, but in the face of opposition or someone in the face of what they believe to be oppression, in this case racism, violence forces you to "deal" with a situation and come to terms with the circumstances that exist within a particular environment.

Death Around the Corner

"I can't give up although I'm hopeless I think my mind's gone

Photoshop'd 2 Death: President Obama Cartoon Gallery
So last night I got forwarded a email w/ a spoofed pic of President Obama talking to BP's CEO about basketball standing in a puddle of oil with an undertone of subliminal messages attached to it...so it made me think: I wonder how many more spoofed pics of President Obama are online aiming to cultivate subliminal messages? So after that I just jumped on Google real quick...and what do you know? I got about 104,000,000 hits. Not all good, not all bad....but in the meantime I couldn't help but to compile a gallery of all of the ones that stood out the most to me.. And surprisingly no one tried to even go after his family so I can respect that!
Check for the pics after the drop

The Twitter Effect: 5 People you Should Follow on Twitter and Why
Now naturally as many people agree Twitter is actually pretty childish! Just the premise of "following" someone just to get senseless information from a person like "in the club popping mad bottles" or "...trick get off me!" is kinda corny and honestly if I even cared what you are doing anyway I'll just ask so personally that's why I never tweet anything but in finding out and looking @ the twitter accounts of other people I can begin to see how entertaining it can be (making the assumption that you are following interesting people/places/or things)
So in proper fashion I've compiled a list of all of the Twitter accounts that either I follow or that at times I feel are worth following just to peek your interest at any given point in time:
