**Calling all IPhone users**

Source LF:  We’re about to get somebody busted! Some very interesting new research on people’s 4-digit iPhone passwords has been released and if yours is on the list – change it! Daniel Amitay has this stuff down to a science:

Naturally, 1234 is the most common passcode: mimicking the most common internet passwords. To put this into perspective, these 10 codes represent 15% of all passcodes in use. Most of the top passcodes follow typical formulas, such as four identical digits, moving in a line up/down the pad, repetition. 5683 is the passcode with the least obvious pattern, but it turns out that it is the number representation of LOVE (5683), once again mimicking a very common internet password: “iloveyou.” Interestingly, 1990-2000 are all in the top 50, and 1980-1989 are all in the top 100. I would interpret this occurrence as a subset of users that set their passcodes to the year of their birth or graduation.

He also found the most common first digits are 1, 2, 0 and 5 while the least common are 9, 8, 6 and 7. We’ve helped you all we can, see more of the research HERE.

Decomposing the Facebook "Like" Phenomenon

Since most people who use the internet rarely are aware of its implications and complexities and since I work in IT and came across this ill LIKE image for whatever reason I'm deciding at 2:30 in the morning to rip open this Facebook "LIKE" phenomenon and why you shouldn't even be wasting your time if you are using it.

Numbre uno: In case you are unaware, whenever you use any device to connect to the internet you are leaving whats known as a digital signature such as the IP address of your PC which can be used to track your location anywhere in the world so in the case of the Facebook "like" button among other things whenever its clicked it registers the IP of your device and compiles geographic meta data on your location. So yes if Facebook wanted to they could potentially tell you everywhere you've ever clicked a "like" button in the world.

Technology: The Future of Desktop Computing

As an IT enthusiast myself it was almost impossible for me to not post this because if reflects the future of where desktops and technology are heading. Now obviously the technology already exist today based on what you can tell from in the picture, but the truth behind it all is that may companies are not willing to invest in these technologies because they are apprehensive to adapt to the innovation due to budgetary concerns, some say reliability, and to be quite honest - compatibility and/or supportability or expected useful life of the new technology. Either way just so you know, the future of computing is interacting with the environment (not just typing on a keyboard or clicking a mouse) but touching things (touchscreen),  voice recognition, and total control/customization of the system that you'll be working on...which means everythings tailored. Just like you want it, just for you.

Sorry....I guess I had a geeky moment for a minute there!

It's looks like social media has already injected a hostile takeover of sorts...and honestly now if I even think about it myself I doubt if I even talk on the phone as much as I used to. Nonetheless here is a overview of some of the statistics....

Something New: Iphone Table prototype

The iPhone is attached via the standard dock connector – immediately after it is attached, the magic starts to happen. The way I see it w/ the IPhone, IPad, and now even this ITable I would just say just look forward to anything touchscreen as the new technology for the future. An ITable is probably something that'll be relatively hard to deploy domestically and even be to expensive I might add but in white collar enterprise wide communities it definitely has the potential of becoming a smash.

Internet Safety: Top 5 Riskiest Country Web Domains

According to the Huffington Post:

McAfee used its Global Threat Intelligence database to analyze 27 million websites in 120 countries. According to McAfee, "[t]he database correlates multiple types of threat data from more than 150 million sensors located in more than 120 countries. These sensors--individual computers, gateway network devices, endpoint software, in-the-cloud hosted services--come from consumers, small- and mid-sized businesses, enterprise customers, educational institutions and governmental agencies."

Top five riskiest TLDs (top level domains)—With a weighted risk of 31.3%, .COM (Commercial—the most heavily trafficked TLD) was the most risky TLD. It took this title from .CM (Cameroon), which fell to fourth place this year, while .INFO jockeyed for a more risky position, up to second place from fifth place last year. The five TLDs with the greatest percentage of risky registrations were:

• .COM (Commercial) 31.3%
• .INFO (Information) 30.7%
• .VN (Vietnam) 29.4%
• .CM (Cameroon) 22.2%
• .AM (Armenia) 12.1%

Something New: Windows 7 Phone

     I'm not really sure if this is Microsoft's attempt to finally dive into the smart phone market or if they think that releasing this phone would be one of those cases where windows users would naturally make the transition over due to brand loyalty, but honestly I doubt that any of this will even work quite simply because it to late. Between Iphones, Blackberries, and Androids who have all been saturated in the smart phone market for well over a couple yrs, bringing out a Windows 7 phone would essentially need revolution the game which I doubt could even happen considering of the 4 companies, Microsoft has the worst talent pool in regards to personal electronics. However, some enterprises may jump on this because of the integration capabilities that it should have with just about all office products. The marketplace is limited so it may take some time to get some decent apps but I'd imagine it will grow over time, but inevitably the main problem will just be that the operating system will not be open source therefore personal developers will not be able to develop the millions of apps that currently exist w/ Androids and the Iphone. Most likely upside: Integration w/ the X-Box. Morale to the story: purchase w/ caution!

Gadgets & Gizmos: BlackBerry PlayBook

BlackBerry maker Research In Motion just announced its iPad rival at its developers conference in San Francisco, the BlackBerry PlayBook. Now from everything I've done heard from technology analyst and investment traders the pricing point should be right around $300 which will out do the IPad by $200 making it somewhat more affordable. And as a IT Pro myself, RIM already has the corporate enterprise sown up since blackberries are already considered to be more reliable and manageable than Iphones so there ain't no doubt in my mind that its integration and usability will more than likely be somewhat seamless.

So my guess if you are already a blackberry lover, then the Playbook will probably be your most natural transition!

Concept Car: BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics

Easily one of the sickest concept cars I've seen in a couple of years. Its supposedly a plug-in hybrid, originally unveiled in Aug 2009, that can drive without any noise or emissions but it looks like 2011 material to me. Definitely an example of the "sports car of the future."

Texting While Driving? Android has an App for that

Ok, so the real idea behind Road SMS is so that you can text while walking…but we all know what it will become. The “Road SMS” Android app lets you text and walk with ease by projecting the view in front of your phone onto the screen using your cell’s built-in camera.

Though the app is currently only available on certain Samsung phones, it or something like it is certain to hit the Android Market soon. I've also heard for all you Iphone users out there thats already an existing app like this for the Iphone but I don't have one so who really cares. Sorry ;)

iPhone 4 or EVO 4G: which one should you get?

Easy.... The HTC EVO 4G! Although I wouldn't personally recommend going w/ Sprint as a carrier on any day, I'd definitely go w/ HTC though especially on the Android platform which is a Google operating system; HTC is a new cellphone manufacturer in where else? Japan! And they've got the best product innovation line on the market. Besides it really ain't no secret that Iphones are becoming over saturated with d!ck riders who have become infatuated w/ the Apple brand, the battery life sux, and I heard them joints just recently released got shipped w/ a lot of communication defects anyway.
