Verdi asked Vans if they could take his vintage Hermés scarves and turn them into shoes, so they happily obliged…
Chris Lighty Launches Website For Up & Coming Artists To Submit & Get Feedback On Their Music
Chris Lighty has managed some of the biggest artists in the business. 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, Diddy, Mariah Carey and Swizz Beatz are all clients of Lighty's Violator Management.
Now up and coming artists will get the chance to get first hand feedback from the man himself, through his new website pleaselistentomydemo.com. For a fee of $10.00 artists can submit their music in to be critiqued by Lighty, co-founder Michael Dizon and other staff.
"We won't Simon Cowell you out. We will give you feedback. If we like it or dislike it," Lighty told the New York Daily News.
Lighty doesn't think enough artists are getting the chance to be heard.
"We are in the Internet age," Lighty said. "There are so many creative people out there. We are not reaching everybody. Just listen to the radio. It's the same 15 artists all day everyday."
The new service launches Monday May 16.

News Brief: Scientists cure cancer, but no one takes notice
Canadian researchers find a simple cure for cancer, but major pharmaceutical companies are not interested.
via HubPages: Researchers at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton, Canada have cured cancer last week, yet there is a little ripple in the news or in TV. It is a simple technique using very basic drug. The method employs dichloroacetate, which is currently used to treat metabolic disorders. So, there is no concern of side effects or about their long term effects.
This drug doesn’t require a patent, so anyone can employ it widely and cheaply compared to the costly cancer drugs produced by major pharmaceutical companies.
Canadian scientists tested this dichloroacetate (DCA) on human’s cells; it killed lung, breast and brain cancer cells and left the healthy cells alone. It was tested on Rats inflicted with severe tumors; their cells shrank when they were fed with water supplemented with DCA. The drug is widely available and the technique is easy to use, why the major drug companies are not involved? Or the Media interested in this find?
