Top 10: All-Time Top 80's music

Ok so as you see I couldn't quite exactly squeeze in a top ten list becasue quite frankly this was one of the era's that produced the most timeless music, so consider it more as a 80's overdose! And ah man it's crazy how although most of this music was made some 20-30 yrs ago its sounds just as pure as anything today, and if you ask me I'd say it's even better still!

The Isley Brothers - Between The Sheets (vid)
Marvin Gaye - Sexual Healing
Freddie Jackson - You Are My Lady
Stevie Wonder - Part-Time Lover
Billy Ocean - Suddenly
Ready For the World - Love You Down
Atlantic Starr - Secret Lovers
Teena Marie - Ooo La La La

Art Exhibition: “The Offering” by Wendell McShine

Wendell McShine is originally from Trinidad and now based in Mexico City. His show “The Offering” is running at Anno Domini in San Jose. This is Wendell’s debut solo exhibition in the United States and runs until November 20th. Hi-Fructose describes his work as “a healthy mix, seemingly inspired by Mexican folk art, graffiti and outsider art with an emphasis on mixed media. Many of the pieces are humongous in person (some as tall as five feet), their scope, vibrant colors and the intriguing dioramas make this show a must-see for anyone in the area.”

George Condo Explains His Covers for Kanye West’s Twisted Fantasy

George Condo has increased his reputation within the pop-culture with the release on Kanye’s latest album. Most are familiar with the controversial cover of My Dark Twisted Fantasy, which has been banned by Target, and depicts a representation of Kanye positioned against a nude Phoenix. Condo describes this cover as “challenging” Kanye with imagery. Condo goes on to explain his meetings with Kanye as well as the thought process behind the 5 alternate cover. Excerpts from the piece can be read below...
Head with sword

“I really like that idea of a Shakespearian thing,” West told Condo about this painting of a severed head wearing a crown. The piece’s two contrasting styles — “cubism and classicism forged together in a single painting” — dovetail, Condo says, with West’s music, with its “layers of different styles happening simultaneously.” What did Kanye see in the picture that made him like it? “His tragedy was a kind of exile that Kanye imposed upon himself,” Condo says. “He was free from exile by having the cathartic moment in the image. He’s alive in the painting, you know what I mean? In a strange way it’s like, he opened his eyes.”

#LMAO Video: Lil Kid gets snuffed by his pops for dancing like a lil girl...

LMAO! But the funny thing is that I can't tell if this kids pops just has a problem w/ Joe Buddens music or he's just trying to cut it off at the root and lay down the hand of GOD on homeboy. LOL

Mens Fascination w/ PornStars (Explained)...

So a couple of days ago I was talking one of my girl friends and we are talking about all of the things that we wanted to do before we died and when I told her that having sex with a porn star was one of the things on my list, it seemed like she decided to scratch the original convo from things we wanted to do before we died to now bugging asking me why just about all men say the same thing: I wanna have sex with a pornstar! So ladies here is the rundown... but let me first preface this by saying - #1 no man actually really cares about having sex with a "pornstar" literally (...like you will never see anybody ever trying to save up all of their money to catch a flight to to Europe on a quest to bang a Hungarian porn star), rather its just the allure of the sexuality forged and presented and #2 if you or ya man really have any common sense then you should know that porn destroys intimacy, but intimacy is not sex...and typically, it just may be the thought of sex that gets a man aroused in a situation not intimacy so if neither of you can really understand the difference between the two then maybe both of ya'll are to young to be f*cking in the first place even if you are 50 #cornball. Lets go...

#1 - Confidence - Now I don't know how many times I've seen or been with a girl and they are itching to cover up their bodies afterwards, in between or during sex as if I haven't done seen it all already or even worse every time you are about to knock boots with them they are asking you to turn the lights off. #1 thats unattractive and #2 most real n!ggas rather keep the lights on anyway just so we can see all of that ish. So the point is you have to be able to be good in ya own skin! If seeing your man looking at you, look at yourself in the mirror doesn't produce the confidence for you to be able to seduce him right then, right there on the spot then you are still in the pee wee leagues and ain't even made it to pop warner yet LOL. Fat, skinny, big eyed, or big tittied most porn-stars are good with that and it projects through the screen so thats the allure....

AKA Everything: The Canibus Edition

Who in the hell knows what really made me think of this, but for whatever reason on my way back from the cleaners all of the names or references I've ever seen or used began popping into my mind. While some of these names are actual strands of marijuana, most people nowadays tend to make references to any of the names below just to simply indicate the existence of "good" weed.

Kush/OG Kush
Sour Diesel
Alien Tek
HP-13
Headband
Death Star
Marsha Mean Green
Train Wreck
Casey Jones
Bubble Hash
Amnesia
Strawberry Cough

HIV Breakthrough: Daily Drug 73 Percent Effective Against Infection, Says Study

News One — A revolution in the fight against HIV/AIDS might be around the corner, according to a new study, which found a daily pill, made of two commonly used HIV medications, lowered the risk of infection by 73 percent.

That’s for participants who took the drug almost every day. The study found a 44 percent reduction in HIV infection across all 2,499 members of the study, many of whom were taking the drug, a combination of emtricitabine and tenofovir, inconsistently.

The study, published in the New England Journal of Medicine and funded by the NIH and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, is the first of its kind to show that giving people these drugs prophylactically can reduce infection risk.

This “is a significant advance in HIV prevention,” said Dr. Javier R. Lama, in a written statement. Lama is co-chair of the study protocol and based in Lima, Peru.

The study, three years in the making, looked at thousands of men and transgendered women who have sex with men across six countries. In addition to the medication, they were given safe sex counseling, condoms and care for other sexually transmitted diseases.

Similar studies are now under way for heterosexual men and women and users of injectible drugs.

Around the Way Girls...

Now that I think about it, I honestly don't think that back in early 90's LL Cool J couldn't have said it better: "I Need an Around the Way Girl." After talking with one of my homegirls a couple of nights ago for hrs. it seems like all too often caring for some woman now has somehow turned into or became a complicated math problem like a2 x (ab)= y rather than a natural collaboration of souls.

And not to get all philosophically in depth but as people, a spiritually conscious people at that, we have all been nurtured with a particular sense that there ultimately is no escaping the one true internal struggle that we all face, just as the one cultivated in biblical times, which is the battle between good and evil, and ultimately the eternal passage into heaven or hell - so for the women who are now seemingly attempting to define their "love" as been more complicated than that.....then honestly I think ya'll can stay up because I highly doubt that anybody even cares how your "love is 300 light yrs from the moon" (lol) and furthermore even thinking wearing ya little hair wraps are going to inspire more of a sense of substance then ya spiritual essence does is a joke and ain't gonna necessarily get ya soul kissed by an angel either like the way some people may think it will so quite frankly maybe some of  ya'll need to come up off that and just relax and take notice.

And as I told my girl last night, my thought is, if my pursuit of anyone turns out to be more complicated and more multi-dimensional then my struggle to try to have a better relationship w/ God then honesty you can hold that thought too, life is to short - I don't need that love. Nobody needs that love. What ever happened to just plain ole around the way girls? Peace!

Shout out to my girl Akeeba who inspired this post!

Top 10: All-Time Top 10 RnB Songs

Ok so not for nothing but I have been following The Game on Twitter now for like 2 or 3 weeks and  last night for whatever the reason I started noticing him flooding everyones timeline following him with the trendy topic #MyfavoriteSEXsongs and giving out his top 10 lists of his favorite sex joints which then got me kind of thinking about my favorite or all-time RnB joints just in altogether. Then I thought,  I could have replied back with one of my responses but then I figured that just might be a homo move (so no homo). But the funny thing is that I suspected that I would need to rack my brain longer than what I did but it all just seemed to come right out and found its way on the page. Legendary and heavyweights excluded (like MJ, Prince, Sade, etc) of course....
