Thetruth.com Facts about Smoking

Just happened to come across thetruth.com website and took a look around at some of the research and facts that have been discovered about crack smoking and from the looks of it the numbers are jaw dropping...astonishing honestly!

#136 Tobacco accounts for one out of every ten deaths worldwide and claimed 5.5 million lives in 2009 alone.

#85 U.S. adults below the poverty level have an average smoking rate of 31.5% compared to 19.6% for people at or above the poverty level.

#178 6.3 trillion cigarettes will be produced by tobacco companies in 2010, amounting to more than 900 cigarettes for every man, woman and child in the world.

#140 There were 100 million deaths worldwide from tobacco use in the 20th century.

#77 In 1993, the Supreme Court decided that an inmate could sue a prison claiming that exposure to his cellmate’s secondhand smoke could constitute cruel and unusual punishment.

Minister Farrakhan: On The Black Agenda & President Obama

Now traditionally most Christians and other non-Muslim religions for some time have been against Louis Farrakhan for what they see or believe to be belligerent, insensitive, or even disingenuous radicalism on his quest to speak out for and perpetuate the "black" experience as it applies through the eyes of what we can all refer to as white supremacy but what I see, or at least in this dialog, is an indigenous man, a spiritual man, who holds the capacity in his thought to raise the awareness of a nation..many of which have no awareness or knowledge of, themselves. Needless to say, this video stimulated my consciousness and raised my subconsciousness to a whole new level of understanding so to just sit and watch this video and take it all in I couldn't help but to think that 1) I just wish we had more brothers out here who were not afraid of fulfilling their own potential, 2) who could showcase the same god given gifts and abilities, and 3) express them from the heart and be willing to share it with the world. - 1 luv

You woulda thought that Oprah Winfrey got into a life threatening car crash or something, woke up later on last night and the internet, media, and talk radio was going crazy over the announcement. Miami just may have became my new favorite team! Dwayne Wades reaction here...

Dependencies on Technological Advances...

So what really are the effects of too many people being stuck on technological advances? Well that's the question that I began asking myself after waking up this morning at my "friends" house trying to get ready for work and she starting OD'ing talking about how f*cked she was and how she wouldn't be able to function because she left her cellphone charger at my house the night before and now her cellphone battery is dead. Now no disrespect to her but I know this broad, like everybody else all she wants her cellphone for is to look up women's health quotes, read Queen Latifah lyrics, or browse through the FML widget...it's not like she's closing multi-million dollar deals or coordinating life or death circumstances. So as somewhat of a traditionalist I couldn't help but to wonder how the substance of people has evolved as the dependencies on technology heightens...not that having some kind of inadequacy in lifestyle change if all the remote control  batteries were gone, cellphones, light switches, or the microwave power cords but just the fact that some people would actually break down and not know how to function without what in reality are just, simple conveniences. So as a IT Proj Mgr I guess by job description I'm just somewhat a little more in tune with the unintended consequences of technology and the implications of innovation thereof, so I guess I feel if people would just be a lil more conscious about the technology they use then subconsciously they wouldn't allow themselves to be so dependent on it neither.

Case in point: For example the new social networking phenomenon that has arisen within the last decade amongst Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Black planet, etc. Many people jump on these sites, expose as much of if not all of there personal information...schools they've been to, where the work, where they hang out, pictures of friends of family, etc with absolutely no consideration for privacy or solitude of state but then have the nerve to wonder why instances arise for example with
