Charging overweight customers extra for their manicures is weight discrimination (and probably not the best way to ensure customer loyalty)
Michelle Fonville was reportedly charged $5 extra for her manicure and pedicure from a nail salon in DeKalb County, Georgia because the salon owners deemed her overweight. The justification for the charge? The owners claimed that overweight customers cause damage to the salon's chairs and that the charge is to cover the cost of damage.
